Out-of-Route/Estimated Time of Arrival Alert® Doubles ROI by Tracking High-Value Cargo & HazMat Security While Reducing Costs in Out-Of-Route Miles
10.20.2003 Richardson, Texas -
Integrated Decision Support's Out-of-Route/Estimated Time of Arrival Alert® (OOR/ETA Alert) is a leading transportation optimization software tool that offers customers multiple benefits that include cost savings by minimizing out-of-route miles and service failures along with built-in geofencing to ensure cargo is secure, on time and on route.

"We determined that the OOR/ETA Alert tool was the best optimization tool for our company because Integrated is continually improving the tools they develop," said Mr. Tim Gatlin, President and CEO for Empire Express, Inc. "We are also especially excited about the positive impact OOR/ETA Alert® has had on service to our customers. The tool allows us to take full advantage of the ubiquitous monitoring of our fleet. Notification of potential late arrivals allows us to be pro-active and prevent service failures and to offer our customers the service and security they demand."

OOR/ETA Alert is fully-integrated to dispatch, mobile communications, and leading routing systems that generate HazMat and 53 ft. trailer compatible routes. OOR/ETA Alert evaluates dispatched power units and flags any out-of-route or projected late and instantly notifies the dispatcher or fleet manager. Considered in the determination of OOR/ETA are capacity (single/team), average vehicle speed, available DOT hours to drive, current location/date/time, planned route and schedule.

OOR/ETA Alert is triggered by receipt of the power unit position update from the mobile communications system. A power unit is determined to be out-of-route based on the latitude and longitude of its current position versus the planned route. Out-of-route miles are determined based on estimated miles driven according to the vehicle location history versus the planned miles. Late ETA is based on projected ETA verses scheduled ETA. User specific rules for miles out-of-route tolerance are used to set the threshold for notification.

OOR/ETA Alert also identifies swap candidates which allow the dispatcher to exchange loads in-transit in order to minimize service failures while maximizing equipment utilization and driver time at home.

Historical out-of-route reports are available for a user specified date range. These reports display your system-wide OOR percentage as well as by driver manager and power unit. Double-click on any power unit to retrieve detailed OOR information by trip. OOR/ETA Alert allows the user to graph all power units either running late (shown in yellow) or out-of-route (shown in red), as well as those power units on time and on route (shown in green). For any power unit you may display the planned route along with the current position. With one picture, you can see the entire status of the fleet under load.
