TransAm Trucking Installs Trip Alert Software from IDSC
05.31.2006 Richardson, TX -

Olathe, Kansas-based TransAm Trucking, Inc., a leading truckload carrier serving the United States, has licensed Trip Alert® transportation optimization software from Integrated Decision Support Corporation (IDSC) to optimize asset control and to significantly decrease cost. TransAm Trucking, Inc. is also an IDSC Expert Fuel® customer.

"We plan to utilize Trip Alert to minimize out-of-route miles while offering our customers best-in-class delivery," said Murray Droescher, CFO of TransAm Trucking. "We also look forward to taking advantage of the swap capabilities within Trip Alert to improve driver utilization and driver time at home."

Trip Alert monitors the power unit along the entire trip ensuring that the driver is taking the most efficient and safe route to the customer. Managers have visual status of their entire fleet at-a-glance coupled with the ability to zoom in on a specific power unit. Dynamic and static geofencing along with historical and real-time reporting capabilities offer the information necessary to optimize driver and fleet performance. Trip Alert is fully-integrated to dispatch, mobile communications, and leading routing systems that generate HazMat and 53 ft. trailer compatible routes. Trip Alert evaluates dispatched power units and flags any out-of-route or projected late and instantly notifies the dispatcher or fleet manager. Considered in the determination of Trip Alert are capacity (single/team), average vehicle speed, available DOT hours to drive, current location/date/time, planned route and schedule. Trip Alert also identifies swap candidates which allow the dispatcher to exchange loads in-transit in order to minimize service failures while maximizing equipment utilization and driver time at home.

"Our Trip Alert customers realize dual benefits of having global visibility of cargo which provides not only superior customer service, but also driver benefits such as tracking Hours of Service and improving driver time at home," said Patrick Russell, Area Sales Manager at IDSC. "Another aspect that is leveraged is the ability to see exactly where the power unit is held up--whether in traffic, at the dock, etc."
